Do You Know What Gets Me Depressed
by depressiondoctor on May 19th, 2007
I start my day with every thing planned as to what do I need to do in terms of my job, I need to get my kids ready for school, have to make the breakfast and drop them off at school, this is how my day starts.
I work through the day till its time to get the kids from school and then I have to cook the lunch and feed them and help them do their homework and fix the house in the meantime. I know I can handle stress, I know I can be patient, I know I can just stand all only if I am being appreciated of all what I do. But to tell you honestly, it does not happen.
I am being criticized for every single thing that I do, I work day in and day out and I see that and hear the only words that “Things are not being done the way they should have been”, do you know what these words create in me, they create in me a feeling of worthlessness, depression, stress. I just feel that I cannot stand any more of this and then another day passes by.
Sometimes I feel that I really can’t go on anymore, but then I compose myself again and I know that I am the only one person on which a lot depends, I have to make the ends meet, I have to work and make sure that everything just falls into the right place, but at the day’s end all I get is being blamed upon that I am not able to work things that way I should. Can you tell me as to how would you feel if you are to be put in my shoes, I know that there could be different answers according to the different individuals, but honestly speaking, it does get one stressed out really bad no matter whichever way you are going to deal with it.
I am living each day at a time and I am just pulling myself up to make sure that I do not get so down that I get ill or I get so stressed or depressed that I am unable to go to work or I am unable to do what I have to do every single day. It just makes me feel really sick and makes me think at times that I am the one who is not right, I am the one who just cannot do things the right way, I am starting to believe of what is being told to me, but then my conscience just gives me the rings that this is not right of what is being told and I am not the one who messes up things and I go through all those feelings because I hear that every single day and sometimes its just enough.
Being a person, I have my own patience, there are times when I crack and there are times when I try to pull myself as much as I can, but still I am person who gets depressed with all the things going on in my life, but I have learnt that I will fight with everything that is going on inside and I will work my best to raise my children with all the values that I have and I am going to make them strong to live with stress if they have to and I believe they will all do great.
My kids are my strength and I gather strength from them every single day and I want to thank them to be so patient and caring and loving to me. I appreciate you kids.
You Can Beat Depression
by depressiondoctor on July 25th, 2006
As a characteristic of night, it just covers the day like a blanket and then slowly and gradually there is dark all around. Just like that, the depression just creeps on slowly and gradually and takes over an individual’s life and then leave them in a dark corner inside them.
As a very common thing seen in individuals, there are different states that take over us, and then we fight with them with all we have, because if we do not fight, these feelings just surround us and leave us in a much disrupted state of mind and hurt our insides really bad.
Some people change with those feelings; some people fight and then give up, some people fight until they free themselves from it. It all depends on how much we are under the influence of those feelings and how strongly we want to come out of them. Those people who have the will to come out of it will come out of it and those who give up will not be able to come out of it.
You must know that you have all the strength you need to fight it back and there is no reason why it is going to take over you. Do you know that if it going to take over you, you will not be the same, and you will just jump onto another personality, which the people will find different than who you were.
You definitely do not want to be in the line of the people who give up and have totally changed from what they were; you definitely want to be the one who stands against the odds and the strong winds and find the will inside you that will get you out of the depressed feelings that you are in right now.
Just find yourself a support in the form of a friend who will go through in a discussion with you and will hear you out and will be able to guide you as to what you need to do. Remember that breaking that shell that is trying to close you down is something that you need to break and it will be a slow and steady process and it will need you to be determined and strong.
You can beat your depression creeping onto you and you can do it, I believe that.

Don’t Try To Fight Depression Alone
by depressiondoctor on June 15th, 2006
There are a lot of people who are living their own lives and do not have anyone to share the things that they are going through on a day to day basis even though they are surrounded by people. This is becoming a very common thing these days and the people are getting lonelier in this fast paced world.
Since the people are living a very isolated life, there are a lot of people who are slowly developing the signs and symptoms of depression, but they keep that to themselves and are not interested in talking with any one as to what are the different things that they are going through inside.
We just need to be on the lookout as to what are the different things that are just winding down our loved ones into its affects. We need to observe them very closely and see as to what are the changes in the behaviors that are there along with the passage of time. Our loved ones depend on us and we need to take care of them.
It is really important that the individuals who are going through such feelings where they want to isolate themselves and feel more quiet on the inside, they must realize that being quiet is only one option, but if they open themselves up, they will be much more able to find out as to what is going on with them by sharing their thoughts with the ones who they trust.
Just remember that there are a lot of people who are going into the depressive symptoms who are really close in your surroundings, they may be at your work, your home, your school etc. and if you are close with them, you can cheer them up and can help them go through the feelings so that they are not closing out on everyone.
Depression is not something that can be fought alone, but is something that needs the help of people surrounding you, so that you can share as to what are the things you are going through and how you would be able to take care of the emerging problems.
We humans are made for each other and we are there to support each other and listen to each other to help make our lives smooth. We are not the only ones in the world who are going through these feelings of depression but there are a lot of people throughout the world who are going through these feelings.
There is a survey that there are a lot of people who are going through depression and thus are receiving medications to manage it and the numbers are rising higher and higher each year.
Just remember that if you are able to share the feelings and you tell different people that you were able to handle it because of sharing your feelings with the different people, then I hope that there are a lot of people who would follow in your foot steps.

Is It Good To Open Yourself When Going Through Depression
by depressiondoctor on April 18th, 2006
How important do you feel is to share your feelings when you are going through depression? I know you are thinking and if you are going through a bout of depression, you might think that it is best not to share anything with anyone.
I have been talking a lot in my articles of depression that it is so much important that you must be able to differentiate between the state of depression and your true self. In reality, you are not a person who would go totally isolated, who would not share things with the loved ones, you are pretty polite and loving and caring, but you need to see that you are pushing all the loved ones away who are trying to get close to you.
There are times when we feel that it is really good that we not share our feelings, which is okay, but the thing to be realized is that it is best that you share your feelings whom you trust. When you would share your feelings, you would feel that you are not into as much dark as you were before and things have started to turn a little better on your inside.
Just remember that you are not alone and mostly the feelings that are there in depression is that you are all alone and there is no one there for you. This is not how you were thinking earlier. There might be some mishap in your life and you are so overwhelmed by those feelings that you seem to lose yourself.
Just remember that still there are a lot of people who love you, who would meet you at some point in your life that you don’t seem to see now as you cannot see or predict future, but remember that bad times never stay the same, they turn and then comes the good times. Life is the name of highs and lows in life and you must not be the ones who drown, but the ones who stand up and fight.
What To Do When You Know You Are Suffering From Depression
by depressiondoctor on April 11th, 2006
When you have determined the fact that you are going through the signs and symptoms of depression, you need to know as to what is the next best thing to do. Because if you let those feelings go unnoticed, they are just going to grow and grow and will be taking all over you.
The best thing to do when you have determined that you are going through depression is that you must share your feelings with the ones who you trust. Those can be your parents, anyone in the siblings who you are close with, your friends, any one with whom you will be feeling comfortable to share your feelings with.
The most important thing to know is that you must talk and not isolate yourself, because if you are going to isolate yourself, you are going to try to fight it alone, and believe me it is not easy to fight the feelings of depression alone. You need to talk with someone because you will feel the weight being lifted off of your chest and you will get the smooth feeling inside you.
Even if you get that smooth feeling inside you for a few moments, it is going to be amazing because it is then that you would be starting to open yourself more and not let the bad feelings grow inside you and let them out. What you need is a vent out of the feelings, so that you are able to feel yourself again.
Do not get me wrong, but you will see that when you will start to open up, you will feel much much better than you had been and once you have crossed that barrier of not sharing to sharing, you must not go back in your shell and keep sharing things that grow inside of you, because this is going to save you come out of the feelings you are in and in a matter of days you will be in the moment of clarity, which will pull you out of what you are in now.
What Is Depression
by depressiondoctor on April 9th, 2006
People normally think that depression is something that is not a serious issue and they will get over with it in some time, but they are wrong. I would rather say that they are dead wrong. Have you ever seen a tree that is being eaten by termites? The termites just eat out the entire tree bit by bit and if you consider yourself that tree, then consider depression as a termite.
Depression is an alarming situation and is being caused by the change in the levels of the chemicals in the brain that control depression. If these levels go down then the individual suffers from the feeling of depression.
The feeling of depression is something that the individual just tends to get into without knowing as to whether they are falling in that pit unless that condition totally engulfs them. Some people think that they can fight it all along, but this is something of a much higher magnitude than they can ever think.
You must know that depression is a state that is going to move your from the axis of your original self and then it is going to turn you into a different person or individual whom the people who are close to you would identify as to something different that you are going through and the changes are pretty evident.
It is really important that the condition of depression is being diagnosed as early as possible because then it would be possible to treat it. If this condition is not detected early, then an individual will display a very different behavior with time and this is going to affect their mental and emotional health in a very disastrous way.
It is really important that this condition is recognized as soon as possible because it can turn the happy and healthier life into a living hell, which is not only going to have a pretty strong impact on the life of the individual who is going through but also will damage the mental and emotional being of the entire family.
