Stimulus ControlStimulus control therapy consists of a set of behavioral rules designed to bring the patient to reassociate the bed and bedroom with sleep rather than with arousal or the frustration caused by the inability to sleep. This is achieved by curtailing sleep-incompatible activities. A second objective is to establish a consistent sleep-wake rhythm by setting a regular arising time and by avoiding naps.
